Week 13 - Presentation and Wiki

This week marks the end of the group project, when approaching the project I had grand ideas of parametric cableway’s that doubled as virtual museums encompassing virtual reality mediums and even the odd hologram or two. However I soon realised the client’s needs and the real-world focus of the project and like every architect who has ever had a client, I had to discard my grand hallucinations for deliverable, accurate and historic outcomes. This is the true focus of the project, preparing students for the real world, real briefs and real people. I’ve gained much more than any technical skill, I’ve gained the ability to work effectively within a team, work towards a deadline, confront and resolve conflict, communicate effectively and even how to say the word remuneration.

The group came to a decision that Dominique and Lukas should present the final project. This is again because we don’t find it necessary to have 6 people talk about the same topic, each adding little to what has already been said, disturbing the flow of information. They both did a fantastic job, speaking confidently and the decision to present in a web based format payed dividends as it reflected what the client had asked for.

For the final submission, my part was to curate and add most information to the group wiki which Dom had established previously. Following this I was tasked to editing the web page (even though we didn't pick up on a few spelling errors). We have noted what must be fixed and to include items such as partnership logos and an about page (we have included an about for CoDe, and the students involved in the project).
